Antique Mahogany Empire Style Dining Set w Table 4 Chairs Buffet & Sideboard

 Here we have a beautiful elegant dining set. This Empire style set is mahogany and has gilded brass embellishments everywhere. The table is large oval with fluted legs and bun feet. There is an “X” style stretcher supporting this large piece. All 4 feet sit on casters. One of the feet is chipped and the legs are scuffed and dinged from years of use. The tabletop is in good condition but the finish is very thin and there are some surface scuffs. There are 4 chairs with this set. The chairs have upholstered splats and cane seats. The crest rail of each chair has a gilded brass ribbon on it. The upholstery is mauve velvet and has brass nail head trim. The upholstery is in mint condition with no rips, tears, stains or odors. The chair seats are cane and also in mint condition with no breaks, splits or frays. The cane weave is firm in all 4 chairs. The chairs also have fluted legs with gilded brass ornamentation. One chair has a chip in the veneer between the seat and the left stile. Be sure to look at the photos below. All the chairs are solid and sturdy. The legs do have dings and scuffs from years of use but they are only visible when you pick the chairs up for inspections. There is also a large buffet server included with this set. The buffet has a white marble top that is beveled on 3 sides. There are 3 dovetail drawers and the center one is lined with burgundy felt. There are 3 cabinets in the base for storage and one open shelf. This buffet server is in overall good condition. There is a large surface scratch in the center of the marble and the front left corner has a small chip in it. The wood on the left end is faded a little possibly from sun exposure. All 3 doors and 3 drawers have locks. There is also a smaller sideboard server in this set. It also has a creamy white marble top and it is beveled on all 4 sides. There are 2 dovetail drawers in the apron on one side and 2 open shelves below. This sideboard is in great condition. Overall this entire set is in great condition and has a lot of years left in it. It is hard to find this type of craftsmanship in furniture today. I do not know the maker or exact date this set was made. This set is antique and will not be perfect. Measurements are: Table; 29 5/8 inches tall, 57 3/4 inches side to side and 46 7/8 inches front to back. It weighs 108 pounds. Each chair is 36 3/8 inches tall, 17 9/16 inches side to side and 18 7/8 inches front to back. Each chair weighs 11 pounds. The large buffet server: 41 inches tall, 63 inches side to side and 21 5/8 inches front to back. It weighs 247 pounds. The small sideboard server; 37 5/8 inches tall, 50 13/16 inches side to side and 23 1/8 inches front to back. It weighs 169 pounds.
