This is a large ice block carrier, clearly marked by the maker "GIFFORD-WOOD Co.", a company that had been Gifford Bros. until 1905 when Gifford merged with W.T. WOOD & CO. of Arlington Mass around 1905. These tongs are in very good condition, about 99% of the black paint intact, very little wear if any, appear to have never been used. The two pointed ends are still sharp, very clean, no rust. These tongs weigh 3.5 pounds, and are 15.5" long overall when closed.
