Antique French Neoclassical Bronze Jardiniere Flower Vase

Unavailable

This very wonderful nineteenth century bronze jardiiere is distinguished for its monumental size (31" tall and 19" across), shape and neoclassical masks in high relief. The bulbous lower section features gadrooning at the base, and intricate floral motifs, while the twelve sided vertical upright section features similar organic designs, and guilloche motif decorates the frieze at the top. Its warm brown chocolate colored patina is original, and shows appropriate wear that's consistent with age.  There are minor scratches and dents, but no significant damages or signs of restoration.   Drilled to allow proper drainage, it could also be mounted with hardware to be used as a table lamp.  Marked "Paris", it is believed to date from the 1890s or 1900s. (vase, pot, jardinere, planter)
