Charming antique French majolica two part tobacco jar container shaped as realistic and very expressive dog head wearing a collar. It is numbered on the underside of the base 455. We have seen similar items described as made by the French faiencerie of Saint Clement. In very good used condition with imperfections typical of faience pottery including hairline to the interior container, small losses to bottom edge where it rubs again the base, crazing and irregularities from the time of manufacture as shown. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.
Measurements: 5" tall by 3.5" diameter at base (9 cm) approximately.
