Here we have a very pretty gold wood and gesso frame. This frame has 2 ½ inch wide stiles and rails and the gesso pattern is very ornate. There is a wire hanger on the back of the frame. There are some hairline cracks in the gesso and the upper right and both of the lower corners have some separation issues. Overall the frame is in very nice condition for its age. There is a fabric covered mat board over the painting. The fabric appears to be original antique fabric that was possibly a deep plum colored velvet. All of the fabrics nap is gone and the fabric is faded but it adds such a great touch to the aged patina of the piece. The painting appears to be in great condition. It needs a light cleaning but there are no issues that I can see. This is a very nice piece overall. I do not know the maker of the frame or artist. I do not know the exact date the painting was painted or the frame was made. This piece is antique and will not be perfect. The painting is 8 inches wide and 8 ½ inches tall. The frames exterior measures 14¼ inches tall, 13 ¾ inches side to side and 2½ inches front to back. It weighs 6 pounds with the painting intact.
