ANTIQUE Fob necklace / Scottish MOURNING Cannel COAL / Rare cannelite pendant / victorian black jewelry with history
This is a really old Scottish mourning fob that is made of two kinds of coal. One is cannel ( sometimes called cannelite or candle coal ). It is found in the mines of Newcastle and Scotland and was use for carving objects. I have two pieces ( one has been sold ) .
The color of the antique fob is black ( photos look brown) This is 1" long ( includes bale) and is in very good condition considering its over 150 age. Notice the tiny sparklies on the inside ( looks like diamond dust).
The necklace will go up to 19" long ( it has an extender) and was married to this piece so it can be adored and loved. The necklace is darkened brass with tiny pink rhinestones that show off the 2 aurora borealis beads that hang from the fancy scroll work. It is a one of a kind piece that you won't find again.
