Antique European Gilt Metal Jewelry Box Casket with Miniature Painting
This exceptionally crafted dresser or jewelry box features its original gilt finish with engine turned pattern, and a lid decorated in red coral stones with a miniature painting depicting an outdoor scene of courting lovers beside a neoclassical figurative sculpture. There is a soldered repair to one ball foot, and the upper portion of the lid has lifted from its base along the right side toward the rear, but this could be restored. If you would like a quote for its repair prior to shipment please contact us. One coral stone is missing. The painting signature appears to read Piqeo, Piqlo, or Piqto.
