Ophelia, sometimes known as the young woman from Hamlet (who is depicted as lady in the lake painting by John Everett Millais), was thought to have fallen from a willow tree and found floating in a a stream that was laden with fantastic garlands ,crow-flowers, nettles, daisies, and long purples. When she died, the Queen sprinkled flowers on Ophelia's grave ("sweets to the sweet,") and says she wished Ophelia could have been Hamlet's wife.  This vintage brooch, full of enamel flowers and leaves with vines shows off the necklace with the color of the sunset.  Wearing this intricate and feminine two piece drop necklace with tassel  will bring you to a time when love stories were full of passion and fever. This vintage brooch by little nemo has pink rhinestones that are like dew drops on the green enamel flowers. These can be worn as one or separate. The necklace is 30" long with an additional 4" tassel drop.  It is in excellent condition and quite medieval and full of charm. Vintagesparkles offers layaway on all our pieces regardless of which site it comes from.
