Our truly wonderful Egyptian Revival chair features hand carved motifs, including the prominent depiction of Anubis, polychrome decorations and an upholstered seat with various Egyptian motifs. 36 in wide, 18 in wide, 22 in deep (91 x 46 x 56cm). Anubis is the Greek name of a god associated with mummification and the afterlife in ancient Egyptian religion, usually depicted as a canine or a man with a canine head, thought by archeologists to be the golden jackal. The protector of graves, he was a god who ushered souls into the afterlife.
