Quite old, this doll has the appearance of being a santos type figure but could easily be a doll form. Construction is sculpted and painted clay - The head is nicely detailed with an open mouth, inset glass eyes and curly carved hair. The body is fiber, attached to the primitive sculpted legs with dowel pins and the head being wired to the body. One foot is missing as are some fingers, not unusual in old santos forms. Sincerely thought to be prior to the 1800's, heavy weight, measures 14"
