A Very Fine and Impressive Antique Chinese Porcelain Jar from the Ming Dynasty, the Xaunde Period. The jar is decorated with finely depicted Scholars engaged in leisurely pursuits in an open courtyard and near a garden pavilion. When examined under a high powered magnifying glass, the glaze shows similarities to snow-flakes and is even over the entire surface of the jar. The bottom of the jar shows the coiled clay that was used to construct and build this piece. Again, a high powered glass will even show traces of straw, roots and insects that were in the clay when the jar was made. This large and impressive piece is in excellent condition, with no cracks, breaks, chips or repairs. This jar has been in a private collection for the last thirty five years.
