An outstanding example of a highly-carved French Brittany longcase clock, this Chestnut grandfather clocks dates to France circa 1880.
The pressed brass ornamentation and carving of a man coming hat-in-hand to a lady may indicate the piece was originally designed to commemorate a marriage.

Overall Condition is Used - Good. The face of this tallcase grandfather clock shows crazing and a few small chips to the enamel. The brass ornamentation also shows wear and minor damage, consistent with the age of this clock and fragile nature of this type of thin, pressed brass decoration.
