Antique Bronze Figurine Sculpture of French WWI Soldier After Charles Anfrie (1833-1905)

Unavailable

This is a finely cast and patinated bronze figurine, known as On Veille (The Day Prior), circa 1900, after a model by the French artist, Charles Anfrie (1833-1905) depicts a French soldier on the eve of battle.  23.5 x 7.5 x 7 in,  60 x 18 x 15 cm.  The figure is an officer of the Chasseur (literally "hunters"), a regiment of the French light infantry or light cavalry.  Condition is good. The sword is detached, and there are spots of rubbing, nicks and scratches, all consistent with age.
