Antique English biscuit Jar. This is an earthenware jar with transferware daffodils. Both the lid and rim of jar rim have incised mark: EPNS, England, and it looks like 2 marks then C & S Ltd. The C&S Ltd is visible, the lst 2 marks are hard to discern. There was a Clark & Sewell Ltd, Sheffield, England. Bottom has red Crown and B2841. No chips or cracks; has some crazing, more prominent on the bottom. This jar has some tiny dark spots here and there on the body of jar; those are under the glaze, might be hot ash marks from when it was fired. It is 7 inches tall up to finial. This is a very attractive jar despite the minor age flaws. Age est: late 19th, early 20th.
