This is a beautiful antique cabinet tube radio from 1930. The maker is Stromberg-Carlson and the radio is a model 12A. This is an AC powered radio and it appears to have a newer cord and plug in on it. When plugged in it lights up however our building is metal and will not allow us to tune in to a station. The grand console style case is walnut and in wonderful condition. There is one spot on top that has bubbled and split and there is a small cigarette style burn on top as well. There are double doors on the cabinet and they have small metal pulls. The cabinet appears to be in original condition. All 4 knobs are on the radio front and look original. The large tuning knob has a flower carved in the end. There is a pressed wood design all around the face of the radio as well as on the doors and the panels flanking the doors. The fabric over the speaker face is in great condition with no rips, holes or tears. The base of the speaker area is labeled STROMBERG-CARLSON in gold. The console has 6 legs and a unique style stretcher. This piece is in great condition for its age. I do not know the exact date it was made in 1930. This piece is antique and will not be perfect. This console radio measures 48 11/16 inches tall, 27 ½ inches side to side and 19½ inches front to back. It weighs 142 pounds.
