This once beautiful chair is made of dark oak and has mortis and tenon style joinery showing it is old and was very well made. This chair has been in a fire and burned, be sure to check out all the photos below. The chair still holds its form and would make a great piece for a pattern. The chair is not sturdy and will not hold much weight. The arms and most of the crest rail is badly burned. There is a beautiful lion’s face molding on the front where the legs cross to form an X. The feet are lion paw style. I do not know the maker or exact date it was made. This chair is a very old antique and has been through a fire with burn and smoke damage, it will not be perfect. This chair measures 33 ¼ inches tall, 26 1/8 inches side to side and 28 inches front to back. It weighs 29 pounds. We do have more photographs that we can email if you are interested.
