Here we have a beautiful ¼ sawn dark oak fire place mantel. The crown of the mantel has a bow front shelf attached just above a square mirror. The mirror is in great condition with no dark spots or fogging. There are scroll moldings applied to the upper corners of the crown. The fireplace opening is flanked by fluted square columns that are topped with urn shaped finials. There is another longer shelf just below the mirror and above the fireplace opening. It is bow front as well and is showing some signs of age. There are some dark spots and several nicks and scuffs on this shelf. The finish is a little thin in spots on the shelf top as well. This piece is in great overall condition for its age. I do not know the maker or exact date it was made. This fireplace mantel is antique and will not be perfect. This mantel measures 76 1/2 inches tall, 60 1/8 inches side to side and 10 1/8 inches front to back. It weighs 97 pounds.
