Syracuse/Royal Rochester Ceramic Restaurant Covered Casserole with Holder
Restaurant ware covered casserole with metal holder, circa 1920's. The pottery blank was made by Onondaga Pottery Company of Syracuse,New York, marked with their "Syracuse China" brand. Inside of lid is also marked "Hand-painted, Royal Rochester Studios", who decorated the piece with hand-painted roses & platinum trim, and also supplied the metal holder. Originally, Robeson Rochester made strictly metal parts for these pieces. Measures 6.75"h x 12"h-h. No chips or cracks, but does have some discoloration on the unglazed rims. Some of this comes from the iron in the clay. The holder has one break in the side of the handle as shown in the picture; sold as is. Inglenook Antiques...Estabished 1989.
