Beautiful New Zealand greenstone earrings (jade - nephrite) - they are bevelled with a carved incised triple band in the centre - this pattern is the Poutama (three ketes of knowledge). Hypoallergenic wires. Greenstone jade is a sacred stone to the Maori people of New Zealand, and these are Maori made. We have several pairs of these hand carved new earrings, and they all differ slightly in length or width. The photo shows a representative pair. They measure approx. 60 mm long, and 8 mm wide (2.3/8 inches to 1.3/4 inches by approx. 3/8 inch).
