Beautifully engraved certificate from the New Bedford Railroad Company issued in 1876. This is a 20 year $1,000 cancelled bearer bond with unused coupons attached to the bottom (not in scan). This historic document has an ornate border around it with a vignette of a train passing two men and a woman. Note the telegraph lines following the track. This item is hand signed by the company’s president, Solomon Howe, and its treasurer and is over 124 years old. The New Bedford Railroad Company was origionally Incorporated in 1838 and was Re-Incorporated in 1873.
Certificate Vignette The New Bedford Railroad Company eventually merged into the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad.
