Offered for sale is an intricately carved Ming Dynasty figure of a man feeding a bird with his left hand and holding a money bag slung over his right shoulder with his right hand. The nephrite jade used to carve this figure is of a delicate pale green throughout with very fine, almost hairlike, streaks of mineral deposits visible across his back. The figure is suspended from a cord which is threaded between his right arm and the money bag his right hand is holding. A red stone bead is threaded on the cord above the figure. The Chinese characters on the figure's back were written by the Hong Kong dealer from which the figure was acquired, and they record its age as Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644 AD).
