Offered for sale is a beautiful cast metal Nepalese goddess covered with a gilt overlay. Seated serenely on a lotus petal, with one hand raised and the other reaching down, and surrounded by what appear to be pineapple plants on both sides (symbols of fertility?), this is a lovely statue to grace any altar. I think she is cast of brass, but I have a great deal of trouble telling the difference between brass and bronze. She has an overlay of gilt, regardless of the metal in which she is cast. She is hollow inside and will not hold a magnet. Weighing a full 2.5 lbs, this goddess measures 6 1/2" H x 3 1/2" W x 4 3/4" D. She will make a great addition to any collection.
