Fine nautical hand-colored engraving entitled Homeward Bound: Passing the Light-Ship Liverpool. Engraved by H. Papprill after a painting by S. Walters. Henry A. Papprill (1816-1903) was an English engraver who did most of his work in England, including a ship series for Ackermann & Co. He was also active in New York in the 1840's. Samuel Walters (1811-1882) was an outstanding Liverpool School, second-generation marine artist. He was born at sea, the son of Liverpool maritime artist Miles Walters whom he surpassed in skill and technique. In very good used condition with minor imperfectons as shown. Picture taken through glass which explains reflections. Shipped fully insured with tracking number. Measurements: Frame: 20 1/4 by 18 1/8; Image: 12 3/4 by 10.5" approximately. Item ID: 1622
