We offer a magnificent French Second Empire gilt bronze tazza from the noted French sculpture Victor Evrard.Dating from the period around 1860. The tazza is impressive in size and sumptuousness. It is quite enormous and and magnificent in its Egyption decorations with a pair of Egyptian dressed figures on either side mounted on the handles. In the middle of the tazza is a profile of what is clearly an Egyptian queen, possibly Cleopatra. Beneath this profile is the artistt's signature. The tazza is given heighth with a gilt bronze pillar of sculptured leaves. Underneath is a slate base giving the piece additional stability and weight. The slate has a few relatively insignificant rim chips. This magnificent piece is signed by Victor Evrard who was born in 1807. He exhibited at the Salon from 1838 to 1877. As a result of the weight shipping costs will be relatively high given the weight of this sculpture. Shipping out of continental North America will be higher than the costs mentioned above.
