MZ Austria Luncheon Plate
MZ Austria Luncheon Plate measuring 8 5/8". This lovely pattern has a gold decoration on the rim with pink and yellow rose sprays on white porcelain. Moritz Zdekauer purchased the factory in 1884 and started using the MZ Austria backstamp. Located in Altrohlau, Austria. This back stamp was used from 1891-1917. The backstamp is shown in picture #4. In 1909 the company was purchased by C.M. Hutschenreuter, the Hoenberg, Germany porcelain manufacturer and was named Altrohlau Porcelain Factories. The MZ in the logo is still used today.
