Mrs. Barney's Letter To Andrew Jackson, President of the United States, in reply to one from him, through his Private Secretary, rejecting her application to him, in favour of her husband. Washington (?). June 13, 1829. 7 page pamphlet, disbound. Scarce publication of a scathing attack on the newly inaugurated President. Writing on behalf of her husband, Mrs. Barney charges Jackson with severely punishing her husband for his support of Adams for President by not reappointing him as a naval office at the Port of Baltimore. One of only a few known copies. Brown spots and toning. Edge wear. Fair condition.
