Magnificent antique tiger oak fireplace mantel salvaged from a circa 1915 home. The mantel is crowned by two beveled levels stair-stepping down to a beautifully carved center bracket featuring scrolls, anthemion and floral details. The top portion of the mantel is flanked by matching carved orbs on either side, accented by scrolling foliage. Underneath each orb is a shelf that sits atop gorgeous ionic column capitals that begin each mantel leg. Each of these column capitals is ornamented with a cherub figure and intricate floral and leaf details. Between the mantel legs is an arched, beveled mirror that sits atop a shelf just above the firebox opening. Below the thick shelf is a single central bracket with a pelta adornment, jutting down into the firebox opening. This quarter sawn mantel is in very good condition. It measures approximately 63" wide, 102" tall, and 16" deep, and has a firebox opening of 41 3/4" wide and 41 3/4" tall (not including the projecting bracket).
