Presenting this lovely Amphora vase from the Art Nouveau period. Designed by Paul Dachsel it shows butterflies, moths and spider webs with stone centers. The glaze is soft greens and blues on stoneware. It stands 12 inches high and 7 inches at its widest point.

The vase is in excellent condition. On the bottom at the very edge is a tiny glaze pop which is barely discernible to the eye. A search of liveauctioneers will show a similar vase that sold for $6500, then you can always check 1stdibs.

The vase was a gift to a woman that worked for a wealthy family in New York. It was in turn passed to her daughter. And now it is available to be added to your collection!   

This vase is listed in the book Ceramics from the House of Amphora 1890 - 1915 on page 180. The Book lists it between 1904-1906 and is described “Gres-Bijou series. Soft stoneware, yellowish body. Lower body with underglaze painting in cobalt and green frit dust glaze, carefully detailed butterflies and owlet moths with wings in whitish and pinkish frits and decorated with colored stones. The upper body with décor of spider webs, green glaze and brightly colored lenticular frit stones in relief. Shiny metallic luster. Painting with gold relief, matte gold sponging.”
