Pair of 20th century Mottahedeh oval solid brass footed urns with lid. Long known for their quality and workmanship for the last 75 years. Hand tooled ornate floral border connecting to loop handles on either side with lion heads,each piece of Mottahedeh hand made attesting to the minor slight differences in the pair and hand soldered handles as well. Ornate tiny trim around the mouth with fine beading on the base and bottom of the pedestal. Stands on 4 ball feet. Have not been polished as the patina to the old brass is lovely,yet could be if a brighter finish desired. The heavy pair are marked on the bottom with a brass plate "Mottahedeh". Excellent condition. The handsome pair wonderful used as urns or with arrangements and the lids set aside. Measure 11.5H X L X 5.5D.
