Monkey Spoon. Sterling. (Tested) c1800 Dutch. 7" long. The bowl measures 3" X 2.3/8". Please see page 92 of "Spoons from around the World" by Dorothy Rainwater. There you will find the full explanation of the curiously named "Monkey Spoons" This one has no markings. It tests as 925 Sterling. The bowl depicts a Milk Maid with a yoke and two buckets, it is pierced and very pretty. There is a build up of silver polish in the bowl.
