An outstanding and unusual find!

Highly decorative picture frame in the style of RS Prussia. Asymmetrical design features poppies in high relief with grass and art nouveau lines in lower relief. Finished in shades of forest green, magenta and ivory with white, pink and lavender details and lots of gold gilt accent. Outside edge is celedon with gold border.

On the back there are metal clips to hold picture and glass and slots for a foot. May be displayed horizontal or vertical.

Marked on back Patent applied for No. 720901. Made in Germany (as shown).

Circa early 1900s

MEASURES: Overall, 9-1/2 x 11-1/2 x 5/8 inch deep. Opening is 5-1/2 x 7-1/2.

Very Good to Excellent condition. No chips, cracks, dings or repairs found. Some gold wear to corners.
