Modern Nude Female Portrait Signed Oil Painting Mid 20C
Description: Oil on canvas, framed. Signed lower right: "L.H. Abenheimer". Dimensions: Canvas: 30 x 24 1/4in. Frame: 31 x 25in. Weight: 3 lbs. 8 oz. Condition: Surface of painting is soiled and would benefit from a cleaning. There is some paint loss along 7" of the bottom left hand corner of the canvas. There are three tears throughout the canvas each approximately 1/4" long. Two are barely visible and are located at the top of the canvas, one is 4" from the left corner and one is 3" from the right corner. One of these tears has masking tape affixed to it on verso. The other tear is located 3 1/2" from the right side of the canvas and 12" from the bottom edge of the canvas. Stretcher marks are visible along the left and right borders of canvas recto. Rippling to canvas throughout, resulting in a few small areas of craquelure to surface paint scattered throughout. Otherwise in fairly good condition overall with no evidence of inpainting when examined under u.v. light. Artist's Biography:
