French 19th Century solid brass three candle sconce with ornate beveled mirror backplate. Scrolled brass acanthus and grape leaf garlands comprise the wide frame with bunches of grapes intermittent. The header depicts a jovial masculine face with a large bunch of grapes for earrings and grape leaves forming a hat for the man with flowing mustache. A large single grape leaf at bottom of mirror curves forward behind the three scrolled acanthus leaf arms holding floral and decorative bobeches for the the candleholders. Half inch bevel on the arched mirror in wonderful condition. Two tiny spots of the brass backing showing inside the bevel,otherwise excellent condition. Has heavy brass loop hanger on the back for hanging. Has wonderful patina to the brass. Heavy weight sconce measuring 8H X 9.5 X 4.5D.
