Minitaure Antique Sewing box kit 18th century with portrait inside and original egg eyed needles

Here's a neat old Victorian-era sewing kit. After some research I found it is from the early 1800's and the inside portrait is a chromolithograph.  The outside is velvet with a hand die-cut of a hand with flowers on the front. The miniature box measures 3" x 2 1/2" x 1 1/4" deep. It opens up to the portrait on one side and the accordian folding needle case in the other. The needles are Sheffield Prize Needes Egg eyed 8 sharps. There are three needles in this case. The box is so well thought out that every inch is used. There is one small piece on the side that is missing. If you collect these old sewing notions, then this is a real treat!!     VintageSparkles offers Layaway on all our Etsy pieces regardless of which site it comes from. All layaway payments will need to be in the form of a check or money order only.  Please remember that vintage & antique items are not mint, nor are they perfect but they sure are full of old history and charm.
