MILTON AVERY '53 Blue Rooster Woodcut Print

Unavailable
This original woodcut print by Milton Avery (1893-1965) dates from 1953 and depicts a rooster. Printed in blue and black ink on Japan paper. Signed and dated by the artist in pencil. This may come from the edition of 100 which was published by Collectors of American Art in New York NY, or other editions which are known to have numbered 25. Recently professionally matted and framed by our client. We were not able to inspect the print prior to framing, and we do not know if there are any additional markings hidden underneath the matte. Frame measures 13 by 15 by .75 inches and the printed image measures roughly 7.5 by 10 inches. A review of Milton Avery Prints 1933-1955 by Harry Lunn Jr. (Alan Wofsy Fine Arts, 1973) will likely reveal more information about this particular print. We also have a 1952 Avery woodcut depicting a yellow and black firebird.
