This is an old Milk Glass Mephistopheles Vase, in the white color palette. This beautiful vase is attributed to Imperial Glass Works circa 1950. The original form, a French Style Opaline Art Glass Vase, was produced at the Portieux glass works factory in France during the 19th Century. The modeling and decor are nicely done on this wonderful antique art glass item. From the well formed ruffled edge on the top to the figural relief face of Mephistopheles alternating with panels of roses in relief; it is a charming item! The underside base has a raised rim foot, and the vase is unmarked. Dimensions (in inches): 8.5 Tall X 3.7 Wide at Top. Weight 1 Lb. 5 Oz. Date: The date is circa 1950. This French Style Milk Glass vase is in good condition; with the exception that there is a minor chip on the base. At the very bottom outside of the rim foot, to the lower left of one of the masks, there is an very minor shear chip measuring (in inches): 3/16 X 3/16 X 1/16 deep. There are no other chips, cracks, or defects. Shipping and Insurance by US Priority Mail is $8.00. Thanks for Looking, and Good Luck Bidding!
