Mid Century Gonder Double Glazed Low Bowl

Unavailable
Mid-20th century double-glazed rectangular low bowl, produced by Gonder Ceramic Arts of Zanesville, Ohio. Gonder Ceramic Arts was in production 1941-1957, along with other local potteries such as Roseville, Weller, Shawnee, and McCoy. Gonder was known for developing innovative glazes and for obtaining designs from nationally respected sculptors and artists. This piece features the Gonder double-glazing effect, with a pink underglaze; it has the typical pink interior of these pieces. The overglaze is a pale blue, producing a textured, mottled design. The bowl measures approximately 1.5 inches high, 10 inches wide, and 7 inches deep; it weighs nearly 2 pounds. The sides of this rectangular piece are somewhat concave. The bottom is impressed with "544, Gonder, USA". The bowl is in very good condition for its age, with no chips or cracks, and a glossy finish. Please refer to the 4 photographs for appearance and condition. Shipping / packaging will be $10.00.
