ove this set. They are unsigned but after looking at about a hundred pieces i think there is a good chance that this is an unsigned set by JAMES and NAN MCKINNELL. The set cam with thin green fabric covering the bottoms. i removed this hoping to find a signature but, alas, nothing. A few things to note: the clay material seems to be a type used by the McKinnells (and others of the time), glaze colors and techniques also seem similar. These are hand thrown. I even found at least one piece that had nearly identical "knobs" . You will need to make your own mind up. I am pricing them as desirable but unsigned and unknown.
Please note that the glaze is not as shiny as it appears in these photos. Both of my studio lights burnt out this week, so I am making do.
Tallest canister is 8" without lid
Medium is 6" without lid
Smallest 5" and has no lid - the lid was missing when I purchased them.
I do believe these to be better than avaerage. The seller of these has sold me many great pieces over the years. Potters have included Warren Mackenzie, Jeff Oestreich, Bob Eckles, Sandy Johnson, Joel Edwards and many others. Many I still need to identify! But all have been mid century and great pieces
