AW 0238

A stunning beaded panel made by the Dayak ladies back in bygone days, the panel is created using authentic super fine/micro beads displaying patterns of Tree Of Life with Buah Berasok and Scattered Stars motifs. Circa 1960.

Udip: The Dayak people have traditionally been the guardians of the forests, protecting them as a common heritage for future generations. All cultural expression and arts - including community myth and knowledge as well as spiritual values - are
focused on the forests, which symbolise the harmony of biosphere and humankind. Like so many leaves on the Tree of Life every one and every thing is interconnected in fragile equilibrium.

Condition: Some missing beads at the bottom border of the panel due to aging, but otherwise a lovely panel to own from Borneo.
