Description: Etching on paper, framed (with glass). Artist signature in pencil along lower margin: "Proof/Michael Biddle". Dimensions: Print: 4 x 2 3/4in. Frame: 12 x 10in. Weight: 1lb. 14oz. (Box F) Condition: Please note: The work has not been examined outside of the frame/glass. Appears to have rather significant darkening to paper throughout. Otherwise, very good condition overall. Biddle, Michael (United States, Born, c. 1930 - 1935.) Michael Biddle: A contemporary American painter and printmaker, Michael Biddle is the son of the famous social realist artist, George Biddle (1885-1973). Michael Biddle began his artistic education at Harvard College (1952-56) and furthered his studies at the Fine Arts Academy, Vienna (1959), the Central School of Art and Crafts, London (1959-60) and at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, Skowhegan, ME (1961).

Michael Biddle's first major exhibitions date from 1962 when his etchings and lithographs were shown at both the Brooklyn Museum and at the Society of American Graphic Artists. Since that time his art has been exhibited at the Associated American Artists Gallery, New York (1965 & 1967), Seattle Art Museum (1967), Pratt Manhattan Center (1974), National Academy of Design (1977), Rutgers University (1979), Fashion Institute of Technology, New York, (1992), the State University of New York (1995), and many other venues. Michael Biddle has also served as the Chairman of the Fine Arts Department at the Fashion Institute of Technology. He currently maintains his studio at Croton-on-Hudson, New York.
