Edgar Boone started Boone's Antiques, Inc. in Wilson, North Carolina in the early 1950s. At the time he was a tobacco auctioneer; buying and selling antiques was just a small side business. All that changed in 1961 when he went to England for the first time. He immediately saw the potential of buying and selling antiques in large quantities and the business expanded rapidly.

Soon after that we opened branch stores in Kentucky and Virginia and added more floorspace to our main store. In 1970, our Wilson location was expanded again with two new warehouses and a cabinet shop. Today, when you visit our 4-acre main store, you'll find tens of thousands of antique furniture pieces and accessories.

Edgar Boone has retired. But his sons Tom and Doug now run Boone's with the same hard work, integrity and knowledge of the business that has helped us grow to be one of the largest antique wholesaler/retailers in the country.
