Meissen Compote Army Camp Scenes
- Item Not Available
Here is an outstanding and very impressive 19th Century Meissen compote. As you can see the detail is very fine and the colors are very pleasing to the eye. This lidded compote has a ladys face with a gold gilded headdress on each side for the handles. The central reserve on either side is of an oval Regimental Camp scene. There is all over gold gilt enameling. Measuring a very impressive 15 ½ high x 12 in diameter across the center of the body and approx 7 in diameter for the base. The condition is really excellent, having only tiny bits of gold wear to the normal spots. The finial on the top of the lid has been touched up by some one at some point in the life of this compote - you cant see it unless you put the lid on your lap like I just did and look down on it! It is marked on the bottom AR for maker Helena Wolfsohn You can find this mark in Rontgen Book of Marks on page 524. Elegant and fabulous in every way! Striving For Excellence It isnt brilliance or just getting the breaks, It is consistent attention to & honest respect for the Customer.
