Labradorite can produce a colorful play of light across cleavage planes and in sliced sections called labradorescence. LIke the opal it gives off colors when the light changes and is said to have many mystical powers that protect the aura. Combined with vintage faux pearls and tiny droplets of glass that hang from the choker, this is quite an exotic piece. One strand goes around your neck and can vary in length up to 15 1/2" which allows you to wear it shorter or longer depending on your neck size. The swag front drop comes down off the main piece about 7 1/2". THe huge vintage gothic cross has genuine lapis and it measures 3 1/2" long with an additional 1 3/4" for the antique dated 1830 miraculous medal.
