McCOY COOKIE JAR

Unavailable
We’re proud to say it - this is the genuine article: McCoy’s (now vintage) beautiful Touring Car Cookie Jar, an image of the classic covered touring cars of the ‘20’s.

It was produced in the early ‘60’s and glazed in a wonderful cream and black color combination with cold-paint highlights in copper color representing brightwork, and yellow-gold to brighten up other details, like the spokes of the wheels, and steering wheel and hand controls. >P?The finish is bright and shiny – no rubs or scratches anywhere – and no cracks or crazing – just one little chip on the outside edge of the right front tire.

The removable top is likewise perfect, inside and out. And the interior of the car is fully glazed(!) in that same beautiful cream color.

Now, that would all be remarkable enough for a pottery piece of this vintage, but even more remarkable is the fact that this wonderful cookie jar still has all its cold paint – the copper-colored lamps and hood trim, the yellow-gold wheel spokes and hub caps, the yellow-gold steering wheel, hand controls and horn, and yes! Even the handles and hinges on the doors!

Embossed on the bottom: “McCoy/USA”.

This lovely piece is big, and it’s heavy – it’s about 6-1/2" tall, 10-1/2" long and 5-1/2" wide and about 8 pounds as it sits. It’ll ship in a large box, CAREFULLY packed.

So, as I was saying, this is a lovely, essentially perfect piece, and the best I’ve seen among those other McCoy Touring Car Cookie Jars out there.

Enjoy!
