This is a nice clean antique 3/8" wide tanged firmer chisel marked by the maker "MATHIESON WARRENTED CAS...." cast steel and a Scotland logo to the left of the maker's mark. It is in good useable condition overall, no rust, very sharp, some minor staining/pitting starting about 1" back from the cutting edge, and a nice 8 sided hardwood handle, solid nice antique finish. It measures 3/8" wide x 9.25" long overall (4.25" steel only). A nice clean firmer chisel by a well known 19th century quality edge tool maker!
