Rarely do we see such interesting and COMFORTABLE formal Victorian chairs. At 53" Tall they are regal in their proportions and in the carved crests. The unique twisted posts that support the back are also curved or bent into a perfect lumbar support profile. Each chair has four cast brass wheels that we have added to bring the chair seats up to 15" from the floor. (the original wheels were missing) The original finish is in very good condition with a few dings and minor issues. The back seat frame of one chair has some veneer missing. The arms on one chair have been repaired in the past and are strong and solid (see photos below). The gold mohair upholstery is likely a second upholstery that was done quite a while ago, but mohair wears so well. Only the seat of one chair bears the mark of a spill that won't come out. The seats are good and firm and the chairs are very useable. . Size ................ 53" Tall x 26" Wide x 29" Deep Circa .................. 1850-1880
