Mary Spencer Nay, an artist from Crestwood, Kentucky was born in 1913. She was an artist from early age and grew up to teach art at the University of Louisville, KY for nearly 40 years. Nay was deftly modernistic with a cubist touch and a surrealist's delight in the mysterious. She liked to use different mediums and this drawing is feather-brushed for a different oriental look and is signed "Mary Spencer Nay '46 under the drawing in the right hand corner.. The drawing itself is 9.5 inches x 13 inches and we have matted and wrapped it for safe handling. A most unusual drawing/painting done with a feather brush. We have included a couple of photos showing the detail work.
