First edition Exhibition catalogue. Wraps. Marsden Hartley was an American painter and poet in the early 20th century. While studying in New York, he became associated with the Stieglitz' Gallery 291 Group. Mr. Hartley was in the same milieu as Gertrude Stein, Hart Crane, Charles Demuth, Georgia O'Keefe, Fernand Leger, Ezra Pound, among many others. Includes 9 full page black and white plates and an extract from an essay by Marsden Hartley. Library check-out card attached inside front cover, stamp on title page reads "Library of Pasquale Iannetti".
