Here is a very desirable walnut Victorian marble top half commode. These were originally used as a secondary washstand and were part of a bedroom set. They are ½ the size of a standard commode or washstand - hence, half commode. Their small size make them perfect for use as an end table, bedside table, hall table and other practical uses. The original marble has a moulded edge and is in excellent condition. The hand-dovetailed drawer has a carved decorative wood pull and racetrack moulding on the front. Below is a single door with a recessed and moulded center panel. Inside is a single shelf. There is some repair on the inside of the door but not visible from the outside. The stand rests on its original casters. The finish appears original and is in excellent condition.
