This dresser has some lovely and unique features. There are several matching pieces that are currently available, including a mirror, which are being sold separately. The style and size of this chest would accommodate a variety of purposes, such as a server or sideboard. The shapely marble has soft shades of cream, grey and brown. The marble is in excellent condition. Notice the pierced carved gallery along the back. The chest has a smaller drawer over 2 deeper drawers. All drawers are serpentine shaped and retain their original cast brass pulls. The top drawer has a deeply carved deco and a central inlaid panel on the front. Notice the acanthus leaf carvings on each of the canted front corners. Look very closely and you will see that the carvings are highlighted in a soft gold tone and the inside edge of the recessed drawer fronts are accented in dark green. These finish features are original. Even the sides are elegant with the serpentine styling. All the drawers open land close smoothly. The dresser rests on tall carved and turned legs. The original finish is in excellent condition.
